Best Clear Aligners in the UK

By Aligners.co Editorial Team

Five UK providers worth considering, what each one does differently, and what to check before you pay.

. Researched from our provider reviews; we have not tested these providers. Editorial standards

There is no single best clear aligner for everyone. The right choice depends on how much in-person care you want, how much price certainty you need and how complex your case is, and only a dentist or orthodontist who has examined you can say whether aligners suit your teeth.

If you want a clinician to manage treatment closely, start with Invisalign at a local practice, or Impress if you live near one of its clinics and want a fixed price. If you want a published package with an in-person examination, look at Smile White or Smileie. Straight Teeth Direct is the fully remote option on this list, with the trade-offs that brings.

Invisalign is an aligner system that many practices offer, so its entry is about Invisalign at a practice you choose. The other four are providers that treat you or arrange your treatment; Impress is a clinic chain that itself uses Invisalign. The five are listed from the most in-person care to the least. The order is not a ranking.

The shortlist in detail

Invisalign

Aligner system. Made by Align Technology and provided by dentists and orthodontists. You are treated by the practice, which sets the fee.

Consider it if you want a dentist or orthodontist to examine you, plan your case and see you through it, including a more involved case.

Why it is on the list

Invisalign is a system, not a clinic: a dentist or orthodontist who offers it examines and scans you in person before anything is made, and supervises you throughout. Many UK practices offer it, and a clinician can use it for a wider range of cases than at-home aligners are planned for.

Strengths

  • Your treating dentist or orthodontist plans and supervises treatment.
  • Widely offered, so you can compare quotes from two or three practices.
  • Your clinician can use attachments and extra aligners where your case needs them.

Limitations

  • It is not the cheapest route, and published fees for the same package differ widely between practices.
  • Retainers, refinements and replacement aligners depend on each practice's quote.
  • A low Express or Lite price may cover only a short plan.

What to know

The brand matters less than the practice. Ask which Invisalign package you are quoted for, and get refinements, retainers and replacement aligners itemised in writing. If the practice also offers another system, such as Spark or Angel Aligner (see the other systems below), compare quotes for the same case.

Price

Impress

Clinic chain using Invisalign. Impress treats you at its own clinics and publishes its own prices for Invisalign treatment.

Consider it if you live within reach of one of its clinics in England and want Invisalign at a fixed, published price.

Why it is on the list

Impress is a chain of orthodontic clinics that offers Invisalign at published plan prices, lower than many independent practices charge, with every aligner you need included and a dentist's examination before you commit.

Strengths

  • A free clinic consultation with an examination, a 3D scan and a quote, with no obligation.
  • All the aligners you need, attachments and IPR (reshaping between teeth to make space) are in the plan price.
  • Photo check-ins in the Impress app replace most routine visits.

Limitations

  • Only eight clinics, all in English cities, and you need at least three visits.
  • Retainers cost extra, through Impress's subscription or another dentist.
  • Paying by finance adds a lot to the cash price.

What to know

Your dentist decides which plan applies after the examination, and most monitoring is by photos in the app rather than visits. Compare the cash price, after any current offer, with a local Invisalign practice, and add retainers to the budget.

Smile White

Provider with partner practices. Smile White sells the package and arranges treatment at partner dental practices.

Consider it if you want a dentist to examine you in person but would rather pay a fixed package price than ask a practice for a quote.

Why it is on the list

Smile White arranges treatment through partner dental practices. A dentist checks your oral health with X-rays and a 3D scan before anything is made, and the package covers visits, attachment removal, eligible refinements and a retainer set, which often cost extra elsewhere.

Strengths

  • An oral-health check with X-rays and a scan before treatment starts.
  • Visits and eligible refinements are in the package price.
  • One retainer set is included.

Limitations

  • You need a partner clinic within reach for several visits, so check the journey before you book.
  • The dentist confirms your package, which can cost more than the lowest price.
  • The 30-day guarantee ends once you agree to go ahead after your check.

What to know

Smile White is a weaker fit if you want only your upper or lower teeth treated, or want a specialist orthodontist. Get your confirmed package, any treatment needed first and the total in writing before you agree to go ahead.

Price

Smileie

Provider with partner practices. Smileie sells the package, and a dentist at a partner practice examines you and takes clinical responsibility.

Consider it if you want a dentist to examine you in person, with two retainer sets included, and are prepared to confirm the price after the examination.

Why it is on the list

Smileie sits between mail-order brands and a full practice package. A dentist at a partner practice examines you in person, with X-rays where needed, and takes clinical responsibility before aligners are prescribed, which most online brands do not offer.

Strengths

  • An in-person examination before aligners are prescribed.
  • The examining dentist is responsible for your care.
  • Two retainer sets are included.

Limitations

  • Smileie's pages show different prices for the same package, so we cannot confirm what you would pay.
  • Dearer packages apply to moderate and complex cases.
  • Further aligners depend on the dentist and the package terms.

What to know

You reserve a package before the examination, and it is refunded in full if you are not suitable. Get your case category and the total in writing after the examination, before you commit.

Straight Teeth Direct

Remote provider. Straight Teeth Direct plans and monitors treatment remotely.

Consider it if you want a fully remote service with one published price for both arches, and can have a check-up with your own dentist first.

Why it is on the list

Of the fully remote services we review for the UK, Straight Teeth Direct is the one our evidence supports most clearly. One published price covers both arches, monitoring, replacement aligners and a retainer set; you see a written plan and a 3D simulation before paying for aligners; and the company you contract with is named.

Strengths

  • One published price for both arches, so the main costs are known in advance.
  • You see the plan before paying for aligners.
  • Monthly remote monitoring through the app.

Limitations

  • Its pages do not say where an in-person examination takes place, and its clinicians are not named.
  • Its pages disagree on how many refinements the price covers.
  • Treatment is planned without attachments or IPR, so it suits milder cases.

What to know

Have a check-up with X-rays from your own dentist before you start, and get the refinement terms for your case in writing.

Other clinician-provided aligner systems

Invisalign is not the only aligner system dentists and orthodontists use. These are separate products from different manufacturers, offered as alternatives to Invisalign: a practice may offer one, several or none of them. As with Invisalign, the practice examines you, plans your treatment and sets the fee, so choose the clinician and compare written quotes for the same case.

Invisalign has its own place on the shortlist because it is the most widely offered; that is not a finding that it works better than these systems.

  • Spark

Made by the orthodontic supplier Ormco. A dentist or orthodontist examines you, plans treatment and sees you in the practice, and in the UK it is mostly offered alongside Invisalign. Published fees vary by practice, and our sample does not show whether it is generally cheaper or dearer than Invisalign.

Price: £2,600 to £5,500. Read the Spark review

  • Angel Aligner

Made by Angelalign Technology. Your clinician examines you and approves the plan before aligners are made. Fewer UK practices offer it, and what you get depends on whether you are quoted its Pro or Select range.

Price: £1,500 to £4,995. Read the Angel Aligner review

Providers we reviewed but did not shortlist

Not being on this list is not a finding that a provider is unsafe or unsuitable for everyone. Each review sets out what we found.

  • Oral Creation: Another aligner system prescribed by dentists, made by a small laboratory. It publishes no patient prices and we found no independent evidence about it. That is missing information rather than a problem we found, but it leaves us too little to describe it alongside the systems above.
  • Six Month Smiles: A short-term treatment aimed at the front teeth rather than the bite. The British Orthodontic Society warns that this can leave the bite as it is or make it worse.
  • Smile Perfect: Its refund pages contradict each other. It also names no dentist and does not give the supplier's company details, so it is unclear who you would hold to those terms.
  • Diamond Whites: Not a separate service for new patients. When we checked on 26 October 2026, its website and pricing page redirected to Impress, and a new patient is examined and quoted at an Impress clinic, so the Impress entry covers it. Former customers should read the review for what to ask Impress.
  • NewSmile: Its aligners could not be ordered when we checked on 27 October 2026: the order button led to a missing page and its shop listed no aligners. Its refund documents also contradict each other. NewSmile has not announced a closure.

How we chose these providers

  • Current availability

We started from every clear aligner provider and system we review for the UK. We left out one whose aligners could not be ordered when we checked, and one that now sends new patients to Impress, which is already on the list.

  • Assessment and supervision

We gave most weight to an examination by a dentist or orthodontist before aligners are made, because only an examination can show whether aligners suit your teeth. For a fully remote service, we looked for a named company you contract with and published terms we could check.

  • What the price covers

We preferred a published price or a clear quote process, and checked what the price includes: retainers, refinements and replacement aligners. Where a provider's published figures disagree, we say so rather than choosing one.

  • Problems found, and information missing

We left out providers whose reviews found a specific problem we would want resolved first, such as refund terms that contradict each other or treatment aimed at the front teeth rather than the bite. Missing information, such as an unnamed dentist or no published price, is not a problem in itself. Our reviews say where it applies, and we left a provider out for it only where it left us too little to judge by.

  • A real choice

We chose providers that work differently from one another, so the list covers practice treatment, a fixed-price clinic chain, packages and remote treatment, rather than five versions of the same thing. Other dentist-provided systems are listed separately as alternatives to Invisalign.

Every fact on this page comes from our provider reviews, which list their sources and the date each was checked.

We did not test any treatment, examine anyone or speak to patients, and no clinician has reviewed this guide. Offers and promotions played no part in choosing the shortlist. How we compare explains how our comparison and finder work.

Our finder asks up to six questions about what matters to you and suggests providers to read about, from every provider we review for the UK, not only this shortlist.
