Impress clear aligners
Impress, a chain of orthodontic clinics, offers Invisalign at fixed, published prices for less than many independent practices charge, with every aligner you need included and an examination before you commit. It suits someone near one of its eight clinics in England with a mild to moderate case who is happy to be monitored mostly by app. The catches are distance, retainers and finance.
- Price
- £1,990 to £3,990Plans are £1,990, £2,990 and £3,990, and which one applies is set after assessment. Includes all the Invisalign aligners you need, attachments and IPR (removing a little enamel between teeth); retainers are extra, and Impress's retainer subscription starts at £300 a year. Details
- How you start
- A free visit with an examination, a 3D scan and a quote, at one of eight Impress clinics in England.
- Who checks your progress
- A dentist registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) at an Impress or partner clinic, with photo check-ins in the app between visits.
All eight clinics are in English cities, so anyone in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or far from a city faces travel for at least three visits. Retainers are extra, usually as a £300-a-year subscription. And the finance example adds a third to the cash price.

Price
Impress lists three adult plans at fixed prices. Your dentist decides which one applies after the examination.
| Plan | Cash price | Finance example | Total on finance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super Light, for small corrections | £1,990 | £55.22 a month for 48 months | £2,650.56 |
| Moderate | £2,990 | £82.97 a month | £3,982.56 if over 48 months |
| Complex | £3,990 | £110.72 a month | £5,314.56 if over 48 months |
The Super Light figures are Impress's representative example at 15.9% APR, with Buyline Ltd as lender and Impress acting as a credit broker. Impress lists only the monthly amounts for Moderate and Complex; the totals are our arithmetic, assuming the same 48-month, 15.9% terms, which those monthly amounts match. Impress also mentions terms of up to 60 months and some interest-free plans without publishing their conditions, so ask for the total payable before you sign.
The price includes all the Invisalign aligners you need during treatment, attachments, IPR, a case, chewies, a cheek retractor for progress photos and a whitening gel syringe. Retainers are not included (see below). Teen treatment starts from £82.97 a month. Promotional terms mention single-arch treatment, but the price page shows no single-arch price, so ask if only one arch needs work.
Impress runs time-limited discounts, and their conditions vary: one earlier discount was smaller for anyone not also buying retainers. If one is running when you book, compare the cash price after the discount and check what it depends on.
Over several years, retainers add up: keeping the £300-a-year plan for five years would add £1,500 to the treatment price.

Offers and discount codes
We have no verified current offer from Impress. That does not mean there is no promotion: we list one only after checking it. The prices in this review are Impress's prices without any promotion.
If Impress shows a discount or a code when you visit, check its end date and terms on Impress's own site before you rely on it, and compare the total you would pay. We list an offer only after checking it on the provider's site and recording its terms, including any end date the provider gives.
How treatment works
- Free consultation. At an Impress clinic, a dentist examines your teeth and takes a 3D scan. You leave with a plan, a 3D preview of the expected result and a price. There is no obligation to go ahead.
- Deciding. If you choose finance, it can be set up at the clinic. Ask for the cancellation and refund terms in writing first, and what happens to the loan if treatment stops.
- Waiting for aligners. Your aligners are made and posted to you as a kit. Impress says this usually takes a few weeks. Treatment time has not started yet.
- Fitting appointment. Back at the clinic, the team adds any attachments, small tooth-coloured bumps that help the aligners grip, and does any IPR, polishing a little enamel between teeth to make space. An onboarding call through the app then shows you how to take progress photos.
- Active treatment. You send photos through the app, using the cheek retractor in the kit. The orthodontic team reviews them and tells you when to move to the next aligner, or to stay on the current one and send new photos a few days later. If something looks wrong, they ask you to come into the clinic. Impress says Super Light can take from about three months; your dentist estimates the length of your own treatment.
- Final appointment. Attachments are removed at the clinic and you move on to retainers.
Our guides cover cleaning aligners and whether aligners hurt.
Clinic locations, travel and support between visits
Impress's own clinics are registered with the Care Quality Commission at eight addresses: two in London (Spitalfields and York Road, SE1), Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield. There are none in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Older lists that include Cardiff are out of date. Impress also refers to partner clinics, but its public pages do not list them, so ask whether one is nearer to you.
Plan for at least three trips: the consultation, the fitting and the final appointment. You may need more if the team wants to see you, if an attachment comes off or if IPR is planned partway through.
If the nearest clinic is a long way off, add the travel time and fares to the price before comparing it with a local practice.
Between visits, the app is the main route for help. You can message the orthodontic team, who Impress says reply seven days a week; the clinics' phone lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 6pm. If an aligner is lost or breaks, contact the team through the app before doing anything else, and keep your previous aligners, because you may be told to go back to one.
If something goes wrong, complain to Impress first. If that does not resolve it, the Dental Complaints Service, which is funded by the General Dental Council, gives free help with complaints about private dental care anywhere in the UK.
What we like
- Fixed price for Invisalign
Three published plans, with every aligner, attachments and IPR included.
- Examined before you commit
A free clinic consultation with a scan, plan and price, with no obligation.
- Fewer trips
App check-ins replace most routine visits, and the team replies seven days a week.
What to be aware of
- Only eight clinics
All are in English cities, and you need at least three visits.
- Retainers cost extra
Impress's retainer subscription is £300 a year; retainers from another dentist may cost more or less.
- Finance adds a lot
The Super Light example costs £2,650.56 on finance, against £1,990 cash.
What customers say
On Trustpilot, Impress scored 4.4 from about 10,900 reviews in October 2026. It pays for a Trustpilot subscription and replies to many reviews. The profile covers Impress in several countries, including former DrSmile customers in Europe, whose clinics Impress took over in 2024, so it is not a UK-only picture. Positive reviews often mention friendly clinic staff and an easy app. Negative reviews describe long waits for aligners, slow replies, treatment taking longer than expected and slow support once treatment had finished. Reviews cannot tell you how often these problems happen.
Clinical oversight
A GDC-registered dentist examines you, plans your treatment and sees you at the clinic for fitting and finishing. Impress describes its team as orthodontists, but a dentist only counts as a specialist orthodontist if they are on the GDC's specialist list. Ask the name of your treating clinician, check their registration, and ask who reviews your app photos and how often.
App check-ins rely on your photos, so go back to the clinic if an aligner stops fitting or something feels wrong rather than waiting for the next review. Our guide on what clear aligners can and cannot treat explains which problems usually need fixed braces.
Retainers, refinements and refunds
You will need retainers after treatment to stop your teeth moving back, and your dentist decides the type and how often to wear them. Impress's own retainers are clear and worn at night.
Impress sells retainers as a plan. The Light plan is £25 a month for 12 months at 0% APR, £300 a year, for two sets of clear retainers a year, one every six months, plus app support. The Full plan adds a whitening kit and dental hygiene, but its price is not published.
Wearing retainers is necessary; subscribing is just one way to buy them. Impress itself says UK retainers cost between £100 and £600, and a local dentist can make a set.
Ask whether Impress sells a one-off set, whether you can cancel the plan, and whether your treatment price changes if you do not take one. Care after clear aligners covers retainer wear.
Impress says the price covers every aligner you need during treatment, without stating a number. Ask what happens if you need more aligners after treatment has officially ended, or if teeth move while you wait for retainers.
The cancellation and refund terms are not on Impress's public pages. Ask for them in writing before you sign, especially if you arrange finance on the day of your consultation.
Alternatives worth comparing
| Option | How it differs from Impress | Price context |
|---|---|---|
| Invisalign at an independent practice | The same aligners from a local dentist or orthodontist, usually with more in-person check-ups and no app requirement | One orthodontic practice group listed £3,250 for a short plan to £5,250 for comprehensive treatment in September 2026 |
| Smile White | Treatment at partner dental practices, with an in-person check and X-rays | £995 to £3,695, including one retainer set and whitening if suitable, with 0% finance over 24 or 30 months |
| Smileie | Examination at a partner practice, then remote monitoring | Price needs confirmation, as its pages give different amounts for the same package; two retainer sets included |
| Straight Teeth Direct | Remote treatment from home impressions, with no clinic visits | £1,790 including one retainer set |
If you live far from an Impress clinic, a practice-based option near home may cost little more once travel is counted. Fixed braces are the other alternative for bite problems or more complex cases, and under-18s may qualify for NHS treatment. Ways to straighten teeth compares them, and what clear aligners cost in the UK explains what to compare in a quote.
Who this may suit
Impress suits someone who lives within easy reach of one of its eight clinics, has a mild to moderate case and wants Invisalign at a fixed price with an examination first. It works best for people who are comfortable sending photos every week or so and can pay cash or secure interest-free terms.
It is less suited to people far from a clinic, anyone who wants a local dentist to see them regularly, or someone who wants retainers included in the price, where Smile White and Smileie compare well.
Questions worth asking before paying
- Which plan have you recommended, and what is the cash price after any offer?
- Who reviews my app photos, and is my dentist on the GDC specialist list for orthodontics?
- How many clinic visits should I expect, and what happens if an attachment comes off between visits?
- Are extra aligners included if my teeth move after treatment ends?
- Can I buy retainers once instead of subscribing, and can I cancel the plan?
- If I stop treatment or move away, what is refunded and what happens to any finance agreement?
Bottom line
Impress is good value for Invisalign if you live near one of its eight clinics and are happy to be monitored mostly by app: the fixed price includes every aligner, and a dentist examines you first. Count the travel, add retainers to the budget, and compare the cash price after any offer with a local practice and with Smile White, which includes a retainer set.
