Smileie clear aligners
Smileie sits between mail-order brands and a full practice package: a dentist examines you in person and takes clinical responsibility, which most online brands do not offer, and two retainer sets are included. For a mild case near one of its partner practices, that can be good value, but get the price in writing first.

Price
The price needs confirmation, because Smileie's pages give different amounts for a mild case on both arches. The amounts are set out under Packages and what you pay. You pay to reserve a package before the examination, and the full amount is refunded if the dentist finds you unsuitable or you decide not to go ahead.

Offers and discount codes
We have no verified current offer from Smileie. That does not mean there is no promotion: we list one only after checking it. The prices in this review are Smileie's prices without any promotion.
If Smileie shows a discount or a code when you visit, check its end date and terms on Smileie's own site before you rely on it, and compare the total you would pay. We list an offer only after checking it on the provider's site and recording its terms, including any end date the provider gives.
How treatment works
You start with an online questionnaire or a free video consultation, which is only a screening step. You then reserve a package and attend an examination at a partner practice, where the dentist decides what records are needed, including scans, photographs and X-rays. X-rays are included in the package price. If the dentist confirms aligners are suitable, they explain the risks, likely length and alternatives, and treatment goes ahead only once you consent. Day-time wear is about 22 hours, and an average course is four to six months, which your dentist confirms. Later check-ins can use remote monitoring, but your dentist can still ask to see you.
Packages and what you pay
| Package in Smileie's shop | One arch | Both arches |
|---|---|---|
| Mild, daytime | £1,299 | £1,799 |
| Night-time | £1,399 | £1,999 |
| Moderate | £2,299 | |
| Complex | £2,899 |
Shop prices checked 27 October 2026. Smileie's product pages do not say what separates Mild, Moderate and Complex; the examining dentist decides. For a mild case on both arches, Smileie gives three amounts: £1,799 for "Mild Dual Arch" in the shop, £1,899 for "Dual Arch Aligners - Reserve Your Package", the shop's booking product, and from £1,599 on the homepage beside a crossed-out £1,899, a figure that has depended on a discount code at checkout. One arch is £1,299 on both the homepage and the shop, but Smileie does not say whether a code is included. It does not explain which amount applies, so ask which package your dentist has confirmed and the total you will pay.
The package includes the examination, X-rays where needed, two retainer sets (which Smileie values at £199) and a whitening kit if the dentist assesses you as suitable. Product pages list "Refinement" among the inclusions, but the terms make further aligners depend on your dentist, so ask whether one round is guaranteed. Replacement retainers cost £99 for one set or £149 for two. If you pay monthly, ask the broker for the interest rate and total before you sign, since the 0% example is not guaranteed.
Partner practices and support
Smileie's homepage lists these 23 partner locations, seven of them in London and the nearby Ashford and Hounslow area, with others in places including Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester, Manchester, Portsmouth and Southampton.
Several of the listed names are scanning businesses rather than dental practices, so ask whether a dentist will examine you at the location you book and who that dentist is.
After the examination, check-ins can be remote, but your dentist can ask to see you, so choose a location you could return to. Smileie's customer support hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with messaging at other times. Clinical concerns, such as an aligner that does not fit or pain rather than pressure, should go to your examining dentist.
What we like
- An examination before treatment
A dentist examines you in person, with X-rays where needed, before aligners are prescribed.
- Clear clinical responsibility
The examining dentist is responsible for your care, not the company's sales team.
- Two retainer sets included
Two sets of retainers come with the package, with whitening if your dentist says it is suitable.
What to be aware of
- Your price may be higher
Dearer packages exist for moderate and complex cases, up to £2,899 for both arches.
- Prices differ between pages
The shop, the "reserve your package" product and the homepage give different amounts for the same mild package. Ask which one applies to you.
- Extra aligners are not promised
Further aligners depend on your dentist and the package terms.
Clinical oversight
This is the main difference from other online brands. Smileie describes itself as a non-clinical company, and the dentist who examines you is responsible for your care, from deciding whether aligners are suitable to monitoring your progress. Ask for your dentist's name and check their GDC registration. Treatment is for adults aged 18 and over. Some FAQ answers claim the aligners fix overbites, underbites and crossbites while also saying molars are never moved. Your examining dentist is the right person to say what is realistic for your bite.
Retainers, refinements and refunds
Two retainer sets are included, and replacements cost £99 for one set or £149 for two. If treatment does not progress as expected, your dentist reassesses you, and further aligners may be offered if they consider them clinically appropriate and your package terms allow. Results are not guaranteed, although some FAQ answers still promise a free refinement worth £300. Aligners that do not fit are remade free. Once aligners are ordered, nothing can be returned. Approved refunds can take six to eight weeks, and a service charge may apply.
Alternatives worth comparing
| Option | How it differs from Smileie | Price context |
|---|---|---|
| Smile White | Partner dental practices, with the visits, IPR and refinements included in a fixed package | £995 to £3,695, one retainer set included, 0% finance at the cash price |
| Impress | Its own clinics at eight UK addresses, with app check-ins between visits | £1,990 to £3,990, retainers sold separately |
| Straight Teeth Direct | Home impressions and remote dentist review, with no clinic visit | £1,790 plus a £69 impression kit, one retainer set included |

Who this may suit
Smileie suits an adult with a mild case who wants a dentist to examine them in person before treatment, lives near one of its partner locations and is happy with remote check-ins afterwards. Two retainer sets in the price help the value.
It is less suited to someone whose case turns out to be moderate or complex, where the price rises to £2,299 or £2,899 and practice-based options compete closely, or to anyone who wants regular in-person reviews during treatment.
Questions worth asking before paying
- Which package category will I be in, and what will it cost in total?
- Who is my examining dentist, and what is their GDC number?
- Which price applies to my package: the shop price, the reserve price or the homepage price?
- If my teeth do not track, are extra aligners included in my package?
- If I pay monthly, what is the interest rate and the total?
- If I decide not to go ahead after the examination, how long will the refund take?
Bottom line
Smileie is closer to dentist-led care than most online aligner brands, because a dentist examines you in person first and takes responsibility for your treatment. The advertised price may only apply to milder cases and differs between Smileie's pages, so get your category and total in writing after the examination, before you commit.
