There is no separate Diamond Whites price any more. Impress quotes after a free clinic evaluation. Its lowest plan, Super Light for minor cases, is £1,990, or £55.22 a month over 48 months at 15.9% APR through a lender called Buyline. Impress says the price includes all the aligners you need and its app. Retainers are extra; Impress's retainer subscription starts at £300 a year.

How treatment works

Diamond Whites started as an at-home brand linked to the cosmetic dentist Dr Richard Marques. It sold home impression kits or scans, a Scan Box for weekly check-ins and treatment for about £1,300 paid up front. We found no sign that this service is still sold. Treatment now follows the Impress process: a free evaluation at an Impress clinic (Impress's own clinics are registered at eight addresses in England, and it refers to partner clinics without listing them), a plan from the dentist, aligners, and check-ins through the Impress app with clinic visits when needed. Impress now promotes Invisalign aligners. The British Orthodontic Society says aligner treatment often lasts 6 to 24 months, and your clinic will give you its own estimate.

What customers say

On Trustpilot, Diamond Whites Aligners scores 2.5 from about 3,800 reviews. Trustpilot says the company has not invited reviews recently and has not replied to negative reviews. Recent complaints include former patients whose retainer subscription payments stopped working, who were sent to Impress, and people who lost local scan options.

If you are still paying Diamond Whites for retainers, ask Impress in writing whether your subscription continues and what it now covers.

Clinical oversight

At Impress, a GDC-registered dentist at the clinic examines you and is responsible for your plan. Ask for their name and check their registration. That is more oversight than the original at-home Diamond Whites service, where you sent in impressions or scans.

If you were a Diamond Whites customer

Contact Impress, not an old Diamond Whites phone line or email, and keep a written record of what you are told. In particular, ask:

• whether your retainer subscription is still active, what it covers and how to cancel it
• whether Impress holds your scans or impressions, and whether new retainers can be made from them or need a new scan
• what you would pay to finish or restart treatment as an Impress patient

You are entitled to ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, which includes your dental records. If your old retainers no longer fit comfortably, ask a dentist before you keep wearing them. A local practice can also make new retainers from a fresh scan if you would rather not go through Impress.
