2USmile clear aligners

By Aligners.co Editorial Team

2USmile, based in Irvine, California, may suit a mild case on a budget if you are happy to start with a home impression kit and be monitored remotely. Its guarantees sound generous but come with conditions that are hard to meet, especially on the nighttime plan, no clinician is named, and cheaper mail-order brands now include more.

Price
$1,195 to $1,345Daytime $1,195 or nighttime $1,345, paid at once. Includes the kit, a whitening kit and one set of retainers. Refinements are free only if you meet the wear and photo rules. Details
How you start
A home impression kit, included in both plans, or $9.95 on its own to see a preview first. Impressions are not an exam. The kit page says a kit-only purchase is not refunded, but also calls the kit fully guaranteed. Details
Who checks your progress
Remote. An orthodontic specialist is said to design and monitor your plan from photos you send; no clinician is named.

The company that makes its aligners received an FDA warning letter in 2023; in 2024 the FDA said the violations appeared to have been addressed. Separately, the site still describes the aligners as "FDA approved". Parts of the site also look out of date, with page titles quoting different prices.

Price

From $1,195 for daytime and $1,345 for nighttime if you pay at once, with the impression kit, whitening and one set of retainers included. A $9.95 kit on its own lets you see a preview first. The page titles still say $1,295 and $1,395, so check the figure at checkout. The monthly plan costs about $350 more and the lender is not named; the table below sets out both options.

How treatment works

You order the impression kit, either with a treatment bundle or on its own for $9.95. It includes trays, putty, a cheek retractor and a prepaid return mailer, and you make molds of your teeth at home. The orthodontic team decides whether you are suitable and, if so, sends you a 3D preview. You are not charged for treatment until you approve that plan. All your aligners are then mailed to you at once. Daytime aligners are worn about 22 hours a day, with results in four to eight months. Nighttime aligners are worn about ten hours a day, with results in ten to 14 months. During treatment you upload photos of your teeth at set times so the team can check progress.

2USmile does not publish how long it takes from returning your impressions to receiving your aligners. That wait comes before the four to eight months of wear, so ask for an expected date before you approve your plan.

Prices checked October 26, 2026. Totals are our arithmetic. Both plans list the impression kit, whitening and one set of retainers as included. If you buy the $9.95 kit first to see a preview, 2USmile does not say whether that fee comes off the treatment price. Its kit page says impression-only purchases are not refunded, although another answer on the same page calls the kit fully guaranteed, so ask before you order. Replacement retainers are needed at least every six months to keep the lifetime guarantee, and no price for them is published, so ask before you commit. HSA and FSA funds may be used, and 2USmile offers to check your dental insurance.

These prices apply only if you pay at once; the monthly plan costs more, as the table shows.

What we like

  • A cheap way to see your plan

The kit can be bought on its own for $9.95, and you pay for treatment only after approving the 3D preview. The kit page is inconsistent about whether that $9.95 is refundable.

  • Full refund if you are not suitable

If the team turns you down after reviewing your impressions, the bundle is refunded in full.

  • Retainers and whitening included

One set of retainers and whitening pens come with every plan.

What to be aware of

  • Guarantee rules do not fit the night plan

Free extra aligners need 22 hours of wear a day, but the nighttime plan asks for ten.

  • The lifetime promise has running costs

It depends on replacing your retainer at least every six months, at a price that is not published.

  • No clinician is named

Ask who will prescribe your plan and where they are licensed.

  • A 2023 FDA warning letter, closed in 2024

The FDA cited the aligner maker in 2023 and said in 2024 that the violations appeared to have been addressed. The site still calls the aligners "FDA approved".

What customers say

2USmile's Trustpilot page listed 13 reviews in October 2026, all five stars, and many of those shown were posted within days of each other in late summer 2024. That is too few reviews, and too closely grouped, to tell you much about delays, refunds or how complaints are handled. We found no larger independent body of reviews. Support is offered by phone and email from California, and no support hours are published.

Clinical oversight

2USmile says the orthodontic specialist who designs and prescribes your plan also monitors your progress from your photos. It does not name any clinician, so ask who that would be and where they are licensed. Impressions record your teeth. They are not an examination. The American Association of Orthodontists advised in December 2023 that orthodontic treatment should start with an in-person exam and X-rays, which this service does not include. Have a checkup with X-rays from your own dentist before you start, and get any gum problems or cavities treated first.

Retainers, refinements and refunds

If the team decides you are not a candidate after seeing your impressions, you get a full refund. Free extra aligners during treatment depend on your dentist or orthodontist agreeing they are needed, and on you having worn each aligner at least 22 hours a day, switched every two weeks, sent photos on time, kept up dental check-ups and kept every old aligner. Requests after treatment must be made within 30 days. The 22-hour rule sits awkwardly with the nighttime plan, which only asks for ten hours. The lifetime guarantee promises a new kit and aligners if your teeth move after treatment, but only if you wear your retainer as told and replace it at least every six months. One set is included, and no price for replacements is published.

The homepage promises "unlimited aligners" and "unlimited modification plans", but the guarantee page makes free aligners depend on the conditions above. Treat the guarantee page as the rule.

FDA warning letter and close-out

June 2023: warning letter. After inspecting Vitang Technology LLC of Tustin, California, in January 2023, the FDA sent it a warning letter. The FDA identified Vitang as the maker and distributor of the aligners marketed as 2usmiles. The letter said the company had switched to treatment-planning software not covered by its clearance without telling the agency, and had gaps in how it handled complaints and controlled its contract manufacturer. The FDA also said that the "FDA APPROVED" wording and FDA logo on the website misleadingly implied official approval. Although the letter identified an existing clearance for the UniSmile system, it questioned whether that clearance covered the 2usmiles product then being marketed.

July 2024: close-out. The FDA wrote to the company that, having evaluated its corrective actions, it appeared to have addressed the violations in the warning letter. The FDA added that future inspections would assess whether the corrections are adequate and sustained. The 2023 findings should be read in that light: they describe the company's processes at the time, not a current FDA finding.

October 2026: current website. Separately from the FDA letters, an answer in the FAQ on 2USmile's pricing page described the aligners as "FDA approved" on October 26, 2026. That is our observation of the website, not a finding by the FDA. Clearance and approval are different FDA processes, so ask 2USmile which clearance covers the aligners you would receive.

Who this may suit

2USmile may suit an adult with mild crowding or gaps who has seen a dentist recently and wants to see a 3D preview cheaply before deciding. It is less suited to anyone choosing the nighttime plan for the guarantees, or anyone who wants to know which clinician is responsible for their care.

Questions worth asking before paying

  • What is the exact price at checkout, and does it match $1,195 or $1,345?
  • What would I pay in total on the monthly plan, and who is the lender?
  • Which orthodontist will prescribe my plan, and are they licensed in my state?
  • If I choose the nighttime plan, what wear rule applies for free extra aligners?
  • How much do replacement retainers cost?
  • Which FDA clearance covers the aligners I would receive, and who makes them?

Bottom line

2USmile is a low-cost way to see a 3D treatment preview, and the treatment bundle is refunded in full if you are not suitable. Its guarantees depend on conditions that the nighttime plan cannot meet and on regular retainer purchases at an unpublished price. Confirm the checkout price, the finance total and who your orthodontist is before you approve a plan.
