PlusDent FAQs
How long will PlusDent treatment take?
If you want straighter teeth without years of treatment, clear aligners are a sensible choice. Most providers can treat a majority of patients in a total of less than 12 months. PlusDent is no exception, saying that most of their patients will be treated for somewhere between 4 and 12 months.
The exact length of your clear aligner treatment will depend on the issues you’re resolving. If your teeth only need to move a small amount then your treatment won’t take very long at all, though you’ll find that you might wear aligners for longer if your smile needs a little more work.
Are PlusDent treatment payment plans available?
You can spread the cost of PlusDent treatment with a payment plan to pay in instalments. You can choose to spread the cost of your treatment over up to 48 months. This could mean that you’re paying less than £30 per month for straighter teeth.
You may be offered interest-free payments. This means that you’ll pay the same whether you’re paying upfront or committing to a regular Direct Debit from your bank account. Payment plans are provided by a third-party company, rather than PlusDent themselves.
Where are PlusDent clinics?
PlusDent practices are located in England, Scotland and Wales. You’ll need to visit your nearest clinic to get your treatment started. There are many partner clinics across the UK.
You’ll start your PlusDent treatment with a 3D scan at a clinic of your choice. This will be used to check that you’re a suitable candidate. Once your scan is complete and you’ve agreed to your treatment plan, your 3D scans will be used to create your unique clear aligners.
Where and how are PlusDent clear aligners made?
PlusDent aligners are made from medical grade BPA-free plastic at a laboratory in Berlin, Germany. They’re created in line with strict health and safety requirements. Your 3D scans are sent to Berlin and your aligners are produced from these scans. Aligners are made to fit your mouth perfectly and to move your teeth slowly and carefully.
Each set of aligners is custom-made. The clear plastic is sturdy and almost invisible, so you can get a straighter smile with discreet clear aligner treatment.
Do PlusDent results last forever?
There’s nothing to stop your PlusDent treatment from giving you a straighter smile for life. That said, you must look after your smile if you want the results to last forever. Your straighter smile will only stay at its best if you keep using retainers every night. At first, you should also use retainers through the day like a final set of clear aligners.
PlusDent recommends that you wear your retainers day and night for the first six months. Afterwards, you can move on to wearing them only whilst sleeping. You’ll need to buy new retainers roughly every six months, as they’ll start to wear and degrade over time.
Am I a suitable candidate for PlusDent treatment?
Like all clear aligners, PlusDent aligners are designed for specific types of patient. They can fix overcrowding, crooked teeth and gaps, but only for mild and moderate misalignment issues. If you have more severe alignment issues, you may do better with another form of treatment.
You’ll attend a PlusDent clinic for your initial consultation. You’ll be told if you’re a suitable candidate, so you won’t waste time or money on a treatment plan that won’t leave you happy with your smile.
How should PlusDent aligners be cleaned?
You can use an aligner or retainer cleaner for your PlusDent aligners. This is the most effective way to keep them clean and hygienic. Denture cleaners do the same job, so you can find suitable cleaning products in most major supermarkets.
PlusDent recommends that you scrub your aligners with a toothbrush when cleaning them manually. You can use mild soap but shouldn’t use toothpaste as this can make your aligners cloudy. Use cold water when cleaning your aligners, since warmer water can cause the plastic to warp and lose some of its shape.
Can I get replacement PlusDent aligners?
PlusDent aligners are designed to be sturdy and stand up to daily wear and tear. Each set of aligner trays will only be worn for around two weeks in total. If your aligner breaks within those two weeks, or if you lose or misplace it, you’ll be able to get a replacement for an additional charge. Each replacement tray costs £49.
If you’re waiting for replacement aligners, you’ll need to keep wearing the previous set until your replacements arrive. This will stop your teeth from shifting back towards their original position. Though PlusDent doesn’t recommend it, you might also consider moving on to the following trays a little early. Moving ahead may be temporarily more painful, but could allow you to get the same results without paying for replacements from PlusDent.
What is the minimum age for PlusDent treatment?
You must be at least 18 years old to become a PlusDent customer. Some providers of clear aligners will accept younger patients, as long as they have all of their permanent teeth.
Most people don’t have all their adult teeth in place until they’re in their late teenage years, so a majority of patients wouldn’t be eligible until they're at least 18 anyway. If you want to start treatment before your 18th birthday, you may be a suitable candidate for one of PlusDent’s competitors.
What is the PlusDent app?
The PlusDent app is available to download on Android and iOS devices. It allows you to follow your treatment progression with personalised tips and information. You can use the PlusDent app to take photos of your progress and see how your teeth have moved so far.
The PlusDent app is considered an essential part of your treatment. PlusDent professionals will monitor your images and track how tooth movement is progressing. Regular check-ins are great for motivation, but will also help to check that you’re on track. If the PlusDent team notice any issues, they may make some changes to your treatment.

I’d be interested because they seem to be a good price and quality but would prefer not to have to travel to London as I’m an hour from there. Are there any plans for Plusdent to come to other locations in the UK?
Hi Paul – we’re not sure if PlusDent definitely has any plans to expand to other locations but it’s likely they will in the future, as they’ve only been around in the UK for about 6 months.
Hi there I have no back teeth would this work for me
Hi Mark – it’s likely that it would be fine, but please get in touch with PlusDent to confirm.

Raising a merchant dispute. I have already received a partial refund & apologises. The problems are continuing: IT, Staff not having facilities & a very bad attitude on the phone. I actually to travel to there dentist in Manchester to reach the angles of my teeth, they are impossible by yourself. They don’t even reply to her urgent emails. It’s exhausting.
